Game is tob but Chinese with hero units.... overall very meh and will never compete with warhammer. all factions play pretty much the same exept for yellow turbans. Ye, I mentioned that, just that the 36k current peak is also due to the DLC, the stable has been ~14k which is indeed higher than the normal for 3K.
Tbh I would say WH2.It hurts to say this, as I started playing with the original Shogun back in the day and am a huge history nerd.... but Total War was made for Warhammer as a game...Faction diversity, mechanic diversity, how that diversity matches up on the field of battle is just so amazing. Melee infantry, swords, spears, axes etc. For 3 Kingdoms you have region that are better for commerce, some for industry, peasantry or food production, silk trade some are hybrid, you have unique settlement that give you armour, weapons or horses for your characters. The factions eye each other more and are willing to create a coalition against a single faction simply because that faction is too strong. To be fair different start locations provide some variety but the endgame is always the same (but this is a problem shared by absolutely every total war game, at least three kingdoms gives you more interesting objectives than the others).Warhammer's campaign is arguably more accessable but has a far worse tutorial since 3ks help pannel can tell you everything you need to know at any time. In 3 Kingdoms you usually start with 1 to 3 and you can recruit, have kids or events and end up with a bunch of them, that each feel unique. But Warhammer 2 is also too good, it feels like a crime not to recommend. However this isn't the be all and end all, I didn't find Chinese history remotely interesting before 3K but Total War Three Kingdoms really sold me on it.I had this same dilemma and I ended up going with Three Kingdoms. But if you're really into the 3 kingdoms era you might like that more.If you care more about battles, go for Warhammer 2; if you care more about interactions on the campaign map, go for 3K. You have your ranged infantry. Go for the things that last in life! I think the game would be wonderful if patched. Played every total war game since Rome II, and this game is very refreshing. Its like people who buy sports games. Massive difference between factions means huge replayability and battle differences.
And subsurface battles in the form of krakens and giant octopuses. rarely play it. Each faction is unique both in campaign and on the battlefield.
It’s such an awesome story and the game captures it perfectly. Sadly I returned mine yesterday after spending an hour trying to make the fonts readable. Such a great game.can you drop a flamestorm on a bunch of units in 3K?In therm of replayability and deph on battlefields , WH2I'd like to clarify the actual battlefields are better in 3ktw (total Warhammer drives me nuts with the lack of battlefield variety) but the unit diversity is unmatched for obvious reasons. I'm looking at picking one up for the sale. They just want to play as their favorite past times.
