We had to go through the bathroom to get to the back of the hotel where the chairs and firepit was which was very weird. The rooms are on the small side. Incredible location right by the warf. They were not helpful and seemed annoyed no matter what guest they were talking to. That just blows my mind that some ppl cannot solve a simple problem to make an experience better for their guests. Own or manage this property? The restaurant was closed and only serving drinks at night. In Newport, you do not spend much time in the hotel but the room was great for that.
Unfortunately due to COVID there is no housekeeping. Check in / check out process was ok but quick. Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard is working diligently and methodically under the guidelines and laws of our local and federal government during the COVID-19 scenario. Kayak rentals will begin on Friday, August 7 by reservation only. They said as were in a pandemic the rooms won’t be cleaned for safety which I understand but there was nowhere to put the dirty/wet towels and trash was overflowing. It offers full marina services with wi-fi, clubhouse, pool and more. I wanted to take the time to apologize for the housekeeping issues you experience here on property. That is why they lost a star.

No one explained to us, until we asked one of the cleaners, that they were not making up rooms daily or replenishing any supplies/changing out sheets & towels unless asked.
