But I knew all of this from Trip Advisor going into it (thanks guys! Loved that breakfast and parking were included in the rates.
It was nice that there was a continental breakfast offered - they had a waffle maker, and boiled eggs! I had succombed to some sort of allergy and the young man on duty in the afternoon said that this time of year is very bad for allergies in Vail and recommended a spray and where to get it.

The room was really very nicely furnished with quality pieces and came with a fridge, bar sink, coffee maker, along with coffee mugs and wine glasses.

The hotel is beautiful and immaculate, located right in the middle of activity in Vail, and the staff there is the nicest group of people you can find anywhere. One of my best experience in a motel and for Vail, quite reasonable. The Lodge is close to a number of restaurants and is a short 5 minute walk to the Gondola. The rooms were a bit stuffy when we checked-in, but O.K. 3 out of 5. The view of Gore creek is great. Get Rates. Probably be good with snow covering. I would definitely stay here again if I ever go back to Vail!The Lodge is a little difficult to find. )...here are some things I was pleasantly surprised by:We spent two nights in a lovely, spacious room that overlooked the creek. The HUGE negative, the king mattress needs to be replaced. The hotel offers a very nice pool and Jacuzzi, a sundeck to enjoy the beautiful views, 24 hour service at the main desk, a concierge to make any arrangement you need, a computer in the lobby and free Wi-Fi, a continental breakfast, a great lobby where guest and some locals (like the hotel owner a very prominent member of Vail Society) like to hand out and talk, on-site parking, and a first class restaurant (mostly French food) on the premises.

The Sitzmark Lodge is one of these it is not as large as some of its competition but to me that adds to its charm.

There is only one small elevator which could be a real challenge in the busy season getting suitcases etc up to the third floor. That means that smaller hotels like the Sitzmark Lodge that may be even better than the large hotel are at a disadvantage.
