The paths felt great and were very smooth, although, the slope was a little steep at the beginning. Bear in mind that the trail to the gorge floor is strenuous. I’ve been on the search for accessible hiking spots and I was recently given a Georgia state parks booklet that shows what each park has to offer, it even shows if the park is accessible or has accessible trails! This was the tower used by Karl Wallenda when he crossed Tallulah Gorge on a tightrope on July 18, 1970. Over 1000 stairs so great workout if you want the challenge!

Once you get down to the sliding rock, you’ll want to take a dip in the clear waters and explore the area. If you wish to visit the Gorge Floor, free permits (limited to 100 per day) are required and can be obtained at the Interpretive Center on the day of your visit.
These trails are very well marked and stairs are very sturdy.
If you park in the lot at Tallulah Falls Lake (on the bottom left side of the map) and cross the highway, there is an entrance to the South Rim Trail where there is a great little spot to picnic.
Hikers can expect to see all of the plants and animals which make up the fragile ecosystem within the gorge.

A gift shop offers snacks, jewelry, toys, books, walking sticks, clothing and more.The visitor center is a large, 2-story building with exhibits, a gift shop, multiple-stall bathrooms, an elevator, and ramps that lead you through the exhibits.To access the accessible paths outside, there is a door on the bottom floor that opens to a large gathering area, then to a concrete ramp that takes you to the recycled rubber trail.The restroom has 1 handicap stall with grab bars and adequate space inside. You and your loved one can travel to 10 different overlooks along the trail. A park ranger will provide you with a map which details the trail. It is located in north Georgia and consists of waterfalls, trails and outlooks for the visitor to explore.
