The gameplay was so incredibly dull and repetitive, but the execution and spectacle of the big adventure movie thing is what I imagine kept myself and others going.Gameplay got a lot better in the sequels, but Uncharted was the first game in which I wanted to do the inverse of skipping cutscenes to go to gameplay.

I feel as though starting at 2, a player would be missing a lot of context.I hate em personally. I wanted a majority of gameplay aspects to wrap up as quick as possible to get on with the story and next locale.I love the Uncharted series but they are very much like the video game equivalent of a summer blockbuster movie. The platforming is fluid enough. They all fit a mold or troupe. I do wish there were less fights and more puzzles, I think Lost Legacy is pretty close to having a perfect balance.Even tho I disagree I respect your opinion, but I recommend playing 3 and 4. You're right about it being very linear and made up of just set pieces, but actually I think it's a pretty unique and fun game. Instead of being littered with QTEs, you have various options in movement and gunplay together. 2. They might feel better in 60fps (PS4) than they do in 30fps (PS3), mind.
