We had the best time with our kiddos at this beach.I like history, I always have. Two years later, I have a full membership and I'm attending 3 times a week. If you have fun at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, you'll love Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Exploration Center, just a short walk away. The beach was clean and the people with other dogs were kind... Needless to say we had a blast! It is never crowded like the wharf.
There's little cliffs to climb and walk on, surfers to watch, a lighthouse, a cove, and lots of dogs running around.
HOWEVER, so worth it either way (If you're a dog person)The BEST DOG BEACH IN SANTA CRUZ!

The FREE Friday Night Bands on the Beach concert series has been canceled for the summer of 2020.We look forward to rockin' the beach again in 2021!
"Came here with a reservation a few days before doing it with a party of 9. As it's not summertime, the beach wasn't all that busy, but Seal Rock was thick with surfers trying to catch a wave into the beach.People come here to surf. When I'm passing through Santa Cruz, I'll always stop by this state beach. The dogs are everywhere around here and fun to watch.

Careful of pedestrians that are also enjoying the paths.This place was beautiful, we even saw beautiful whales, it was treat to soar eyes, however while my kids and I were enjoying the place, a dog -German Shepard got my son on side:( we are now in the emergency, the rules clearly state that dogs should be on the lease, I get they want to play..but safety above all else should come first, this dog charged at my son while his back was turned towards him..
