Smallish, so make reservations. The hotel is super clean and super quiet. Great croissants, just like Paris, and some pastries. Very comfortable and the host was friendly, helpful and provided great info to get fed and stay safe during this time of social distancing.
The linens and bath towels are high quality. The property provides a 24-hour front desk and room service for guests. I was traveling alone with my 2 pooches, and I felt very safe and secure here. This place was great for one night, but would be even more amazing for a romantic getaway! I strongly recommend this place to anyone traveling to this area. The owners were accommodating and kind. Simultaneously old and new, the hotel honors the past and embraces the future. This hotel came up as available on our way up to Mt Shasta. Still someone is just a phone call away, and I was never under the impression I was being left alone to my own devices. In theory you could spend your entire stay there and never run into an employee or another guest for that matter. The hotel is really beautiful and we all loved it. Staff were very friendly and helpful, property was clean and well-maintained. It may be just a tad over priced, but I have certainly payed more for a room and not walked away as satisfied, so I would not think twice about staying there again. The air and heating systems were all modern. This was my first stay, and I will be back. With 7 individual designed and decorated rooms, Let us curate an experience for you that is diverse, unique and real. You can also walk down to the Sacramento River. The staff "Ashley" was very friendly and accommodating. I was in Dunsmuir during the off season so I had a chance to get the local feel at the Dunsmuir Brewery for dinner, and The Wheelhouse for breakfast.My wife and I found the Mossbrae Hotel to be a great start to our roadtrip from San Jose to Portland.
No parking whatsoever, must park on street. Reasonable price and excellent use of a great older building in the downtown area.
The rooms are elegant but comfortable. Cute places to eat within a block and beautiful scenery all around town.
I found it very earthy and comforting and never wanted to leave the room. Overall a big thumbs up though.We were in Room 5. The bathroom is spacious and the shower is great, with both a fixed and hand-held shower head, and a tiled seat built in. Staff is friendly too.
