Got a job within the day for me and my partner. Others were on the waiting lists for a good few weeks before getting something so there is an element of luck but a lot of people did get the work that got them the 2nd year visa. You were not allowed to bring your own drink into hostel (you would get kicked out and lose your 200 dollar bond -submitted on arrival with PASSPORT) a jug of goon at the bar, 1 litre was 10 dollars. Natalie the new manager is a legend, very friendly and accommodating and made my stay here easy while working on a tough working routine. If your lookinh for visa work, you might get lucky at this hostel and get work at a good farm for decent money.
The hostel is clean, has great cooking facilities and food storage areas and the beds are comfy! It's very expensive, during the high season looking at $240 for a 6bed dorm and the kitchen facilities are not brilliant. Fully recommend this hostel. I could not recommend this hostel enough. 2 massive kitchens. Hostel is super clean, is cleaned daily, facilities are great, bar onsite, pool is lovely and everyone is like 1 big family. Natalie is super friendly and does her absolute best to make sure everyone gets farm work as soon as possible. I never quite understood why they do work there.
