The Grenadier unit are so small they can't even take line infantry 1v1. Whether you have Regiment of Horse, Provincial Cavalry, Hussars, Lancers or whatever, they are at best for taking out artillery and other cavalry. It was very good for a while, and then it wasn't.I think a part of it as well is that Empire was the first game to use the "dreaded" WarScape engine - so some seem to view it as the beginning of the end of Total War.It's been demonstrated time and time again that people who hate on the "WarScape engine" don't really even understand what an engine is, so I wouldn't be too worried on that front.I see a trend of engine switching = growing unpopularity in TW and ACWarscape is a perfectly good engine--provided that you stick to gunpowder warfare and the graphical fidelity doesn't exceed that of Napoleon: Total War.Before that, some country like Poland or what ever takes all of it.If you are not india, it's a rush to grab land and resources so you can fight their sheer numbers.Over 560.
