Located in the revitalized East Village and housed in the historical Simmons Building along the Bow River, charbar is spearheaded by executive chef Jessica Pelland with the support of co-owners and chefs Connie DeSousa and John Jackson. The service was over all great. Food was very good but prices were very high and wasn’t impressed with the small menu Excellent service, delicious and fresh food, gorgeous ambiance. It was delicious. Not sure if he was new to waiting tables but, as this restaurant is $$$, one would expect a certain level of service which was not there. I would be willing to give it another try.This was my first time and I think I’ve found my new favorite place. The porterhouse steak did NOT ha ve as much flavour as it did on Valentines Day. Hmm...I was so disappointed that there was no other vegetable options.

This is one of our favorite places, we were sad to see the pizza off the menu, but happy to hear we can now order it for take away through Connie and johns pizza, yay!
Overall excellent restaurant, creative food, great wine and beer. We didn't make an issue of it but were surprised by it. Food was unbelievably good, service was fantastic. Charbar restaurant features cuts of ultra-dry aged Alberta beef and an ocean wise seafood raw bar, that spills out onto the open air riverfront patios with views of the bow river.
A place to show out of town guests. The food was very good however, the service was lacking. I absolutely loved every moment. especially the cheese and bread small plate... you get one slice of sour dough to eat all the cheese, you can at least give another slice and not charge the customer $4 for it.I always enjoy my dinner at Charbar I would recommend it to everyoneWe had the burguers for brunch and the meat was cooked on point.This was the second time we attended Charbar in the same week. Felt extremely safe during these covid times.Had been there many times before a long time ago and though value for money was great. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, call ahead to verify hours, and remember to practice social distancing "your burger " (2 Tips) "Anything avocado!" We barely made it out the door by 3, without exaggeration.
